Claire’s is recalling more asbestos-tinted products after the FDA confirmed the presence of asbestos in makeup sets including Jojo Siwa’s makeup set and Beauty Plus’ Global Contour Effects Palette.
One of Claire’s makeup set was named after JoJo Siwa, a YouTube celebrity who is known for wearing big bows and appeared on two seasons of Dance Moms.
Claire’s has recalled the products proven dangerous by the FDA, but continues to be confident in the safety of their products, despite them testing positive for trace amounts of asbestos.
The JoJo Siwa cosmetic kit was available for sale from July 2018 to May 2019 and has since been removed from stores. The product can be returned for a full refund.
March 5, 2019, the FDA advised consumers not to use three of Claire’s cosmetic products because they contained asbestos. Claire’s Eye Shadows, Claire’s Compact Powder, and Claire’s Contour Palette tested positive for tremolite asbestos according to the FDA.
