Have you or someone you loved ever worked at a power plant? If so, your risk for developing an asbestos-related disease due to exposure on the job is high. Energy Future Holdings Corporation (EFH) employees should be aware that a deadline is approaching to file asbestos claims, whether they have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease or not.
Energy Future Holdings Corporation recently filed bankruptcy. As part of the financial restructuring, a bar date was set for asbestos claims against the company.
EFH owned, operated, maintained, and built power plants across the country, as well as overseas. Unfortunately, asbestos-containing materials were used in these power plants, putting EFH contractors, employees, and their families at risk for exposure. If you have been diagnosed or worry you might be diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease in the future, you should file your claim against the EFH trust by December 14, 2015.
Here is a list of EFH power plants located in the United States.
Here is a list of international EFH power plants.
If you have worked in one of these plants and do not file a claim by December 14, you will no longer be eligible to receive compensation for your condition. Filing a claim can be done online, by fax, by email or first-class mail, or by hand delivery. An asbestos and mesothelioma lawyer will also be able to guide you through the process to ensure your claim is filed correctly.
Don’t forget to file before December 14, 2015.
