Paul Zygielbaum is a Santa Rosa, California resident and mesothelioma victim. Diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2003, Zygielbaum is fifteen year warrior of the fatal disease that usually claims patients’ lives just 1 to 2 years after diagnosis. One of his main goals is to see asbestos banned in the United States.

“He’s fighting for medical research into new treatments; for the rights of patients, victims and their families; and to make asbestos illegal,” says a recent article within the San Francisco Chronicle.

Zygielbaum is just one patient who was around to see a 2007 Ban Asbestos in America Act pass, only to be edited and stripped of any real good it could do for the country. This disappointment has not stopped him from pushing for a complete ban in the United States, where asbestos is still found in older homes and buildings, and still allowed to be used within new consumer products.
