Garen Nazarian began his professional career in 2005 as a trial lawyer with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. During his seven years as a Deputy Public Defender, Mr. Nazarian tried over 40 cases to verdict, including murder and third strike cases.   In 2012, Mr. Nazarian embarked on life as an expat by moving to Armenia. During his first two years in Armenia, Mr. Nazarian worked as a consultant with the country's Ministry of Justice through a program sponsored by Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. Mr. Nazarian advised various deputy ministers as they made criminal law reforms. For the remaining two years in Armenia, Mr. Nazarian managed the Mining Reform Legislation Initiative at the American University of Armenia - a program aimed at aligning the country's mining laws with global best practice standards. Simultaneously, Mr. Nazarian worked as the international specialist for the Armenian office of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, where he worked with the country's law schools in advancing their curriculum and teaching techniques. Upon moving back to the U.S. in 2016, Mr. Nazarian began his work with Brayton Purcell LLP as trial associate.  

Mr. Nazarian graduated from UC Berkeley in 1997, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2003.
