Asbestos Awareness Day Resolution Passes The Senate
The Senate passed the Asbestos Awareness Day Resolution (RES108) designating the first week of April as “National Asbestos Awareness Week.” ADAO, a non–profit organization dedicated to serving as the voice of asbestos victims, first proposed the resolution in 2004. The resolution was sponsored by Sen. Max Baucus (D–Montana) with the support and cosponsorship of Sen. Richard Durbin (D–Illinois), Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D–California), Sen. Johnny Isakson (R–Georgia), Sen. Edward Kenedy (D–Massachusetts), Sen. Patrick Leahy (D–Vermont), Sen. Patty Murray (D–Washington), Sen. Harry Reid (D–Nevada) and Sen. Jon Tester (D–Montana).
