Navy Vet Blames Companies for Asbestos Exposure

It is not uncommon for Navy veterans to be diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease in their lifetime. Due to exposure to asbestos during their time of service, nearly one out of three mesothelioma victims is a veteran. Today many veterans, including Jimmie Farr, seek justice for those responsible for their conditions.

Mr. Farr worked as a U.S. Navy firefighter. His employment ranged from 1962 to the 1990s, during which time he was exposed to large amounts of asbestos fibers. It has been stated that exposure to any amount of asbestos fibers is a hazard to human health. Prolonged exposure on the job can lead to fatal diseases, like mesothelioma, which Mr. Farr was diagnosed with in January of 2015.

Mr. Farr filed a lawsuit against three asbestos companies. His case alleges negligence, willful and wanton manufacturing of asbestos, and conspiracy.

Mesothelioma lawsuits and claims can be confusing processes for veterans and their families. If you have been exposed to asbestos during your time of service, an experienced asbestos attorney can help determine how to proceed with pursuing justice.
