If you are a part of a union, you might already be aware of asbestos exposure on the job. Unions have been aware of occupational asbestos exposure at the workplace, and many have made significant efforts to keep their workers safe.
Unfortunately, union workers are still diagnosed with asbestos-related diseases. Workers, including insulators, pipefitters, boilermakers, laborers, auto mechanics, firefighters, roofers, steel workers, electricians, and more are at risk for developing fatal illnesses due to asbestos exposure, despite their Union status.
If you have an issue involving asbestos exposure at your place of work, and worry about being diagnosed with an asbestos-related illness, it is probably best for you to contact your union representative for assistance.
We have a list of unions that may have members who are at high risk for asbestos exposure at work. See it here.
